I photograph newborns in their first days of life, the bump before birth, the christening, the first birthday and family portraits. I work in Trani, at the family studio, and I'm the one who answers on WhatsApp.
How I work with a newborn
I photograph the newborn while they sleep, in the morning, with the pauses they need. In the first few days, morning sleep is the deepest, and that's when a baby settles into a curled up position without anyone forcing it.
The baby sets the pace. If they wake up I wait, and if they're hungry or need changing we stop.
You're in the photos too. A father's hands under the baby's head, the first hug between the three of you: these are images I ask for, even from people who'd arrived planning to stay out of the frame.
Is the newborn photography session safe?
Yes, as long as no position is ever forced. If the baby doesn't settle into it on their own, I skip that pose and try another.
I warm the studio before you arrive. A newborn who has just been undressed loses heat quickly, and a cold baby wakes up.

Who is Alessia Zitoli?
I'm the photographer at Little Stories by Zitoli, the part of the Zitoli studio in Trani that looks after children and expectant parents. I'm the one who shoots every session on this site, from the first reply on WhatsApp through to delivering the photos.
The studio's tagline reads "Photographers for generations." The team also includes Luciano Zitoli, who photographs weddings, and Nicola Curci: the website for that side of the business is lucianozitoli.it.
Some families come from there: first the wedding, then the pregnancy, then the newborn.
Where the studio is, in Trani
The studio is at Via Umberto 230, 76125 Trani, in the province of Barletta Andria Trani. It's thirty minutes by car from Bari; from Barletta, Bisceglie, Andria, Molfetta and Corato it takes less.
I photograph newborn and smash cake sessions here. For pregnancy you can choose between the studio and the beach, and we decide together when we set the date.

How to book a session
Book by messaging me on WhatsApp. For newborn sessions we pencil in the period while you're still pregnant, and I fix the exact day after the birth, once you let me know the baby has arrived.
For the other services you already know the date: the week of pregnancy you want the photos taken, the birthday, the day the parish priest gives you. Send me that and I'll tell you what I still have free.
Tell me which service you need and I'll send you the quote in writing, so you can read it at your own pace.

Who photographs the session?
I photograph it myself, from the first reply on WhatsApp through to delivering the photos. The team at the Zitoli studio handles weddings, which is separate work from mine. On the site you'll find two numbers: the WhatsApp one is mine, the landline 0883 588902 is the studio's.
My baby is already twenty days old, is there still time?
Yes, though the photos will be different. In the first 10 to 15 days sleep is deep and curled up positions come naturally. Later on the baby stays awake longer and looks at the camera: you get different portraits, with their eyes open. Send me the date of birth and I'll tell you what we can still do.
Do you also photograph christenings and birthday parties?
Yes. They're two of the Little Stories services, along with newborn, pregnancy, smash cake and family portraits. Christenings and birthdays each have their own page, with what you need to know before setting the date.
How does the quote arrive, and when's the best time to ask for it?
Write to me with which service you're interested in and for what period: if you're expecting a baby, the estimated due date is enough. I'll reply myself and the quote arrives in writing, so you can read it at your own pace.
