What I photograph
Newborn, pregnancy, smash cake, christening, birthdays and family portraits. Newborn and pregnancy have a narrow window, everything else allows more flexibility.
I photograph newborns, pregnancy, smash cake, christenings and birthdays in the studio in Trani, half an hour from Bari. The newborn session takes place in the first 10 to 15 days of life: that is why it is worth messaging me while you are still expecting.
How a session with a newborn works
A newborn session follows the baby: I photograph while they sleep, I stop when they are hungry, and I continue afterwards.
The baby sets the pace
I do not follow a schedule. Breaks for feeding and changing are part of the session, not a hitch. If the baby falls asleep late, we wait. I book newborn sessions in the morning, when sleep lasts longer.
No forced poses
I never leave the baby balanced in a precarious position. Curled up poses come naturally when sleep is deep, and when they do not, I do not force it: I change the support and carry on with what the baby is happy with.
Mum and dad in the photos too
I photograph you together with your baby, at least for part of the session. Your hands are enough. There is no need to dress in any particular way, whatever you are wearing is fine, and if you would rather stay out of the frame, just say so.
When to book
Booking during pregnancy is the safest way to stay within the first 10 to 15 days of life: the period is marked in advance, and the exact day is set once the baby is born.

The name and the date are enough. From there we set the exact day of the session, within the week that is needed.

Sleep is deep and the baby is still curled up the way they were inside. The first ten days are best: after that they sleep less and the session changes.

Their look changes every month. The milestone that is worth a session of its own is when they can sit up and hold their gaze.

The best moment is between 11 and 18 months, when they use their hands on their own and the cake ends up exactly where it should.

From the second birthday onwards there are other children and the party will not wait for the photographer. I photograph it as it happens.

The studio is at Via Umberto 230, 76125 Trani, in the town centre. From Bari it is thirty minutes by car; from Barletta, Bisceglie, Andria, Molfetta and Corato it takes less. The studio phone number is 0883 588902.

The newborn session is the one with the shortest deadline: you book it during pregnancy and fix the exact day once the baby is born.

Frequently asked questions
When does the newborn photography session take place?
In the first 10 to 15 days of life, ideally within the first 10. In those days the baby sleeps for long stretches and still holds the curled up position they had before birth. If you have already passed the two week mark, message me anyway: it can still be done, with the baby more alert, and the photos come out differently.
How do I ask for a quote?
Message me on WhatsApp or through the contact form and tell me which session you are interested in and roughly when: if you are expecting a baby, the estimated due date is enough. I will reply with the quote for that session. If you are also interested in albums and prints, mention it in the same message.
What if the baby cries the whole time?
It happens, and it is expected. We stop, the baby feeds or gets changed, and we continue when they are ready. In a newborn session, crying is part of the day and there is no need to rush to calm them down: what is needed is patience, and I bring it.
I live in Bari, is it worth coming all the way to Trani?
Thirty minutes by car. The newborn session is in the morning, so you set off early, and I only do newborn sessions in the studio: the journey is the only thing I ask you to organise. For those coming from Bari, I have written a dedicated page, with the route and how the day is arranged.
